Career Guidance and Placement Cell Annual Report-2019-20 Placement cell of the college plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for the students passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Coordinator of the cell is Mr.Raghavendra G G, Dept. of Commerce. Guest lecture:

1. On 19/07/2019 the college Career Guidance and Placement Cell had organised a talk on “Banking and competitive exams- CAT, MAT” by Mr Ashwin Raj, Centre Manager, TIME institute, Udupi. The objective of this programme was to give proper information about banking and other competitive exams and to mould students to get into corporate sector. The resource person spoke about the importance of higher education and different specialised field and competitive exams. He gave a clear cut information and idea about how to prepare for competitive exam and its benefits.
2. Career guidance cell of the college conducted a guest lecture on “SAP-System Applications & Products in Data Processing” by Mr.Rakesh J Proprietor of ROOTS institute Udupi, on 19/08/2019. The main objective of the programme was to make the students of evening college know importance of computer and other diploma courses to give a new angle to their career. He gave a clear cut idea of dimensions and career opportunities available in these additional courses.
3.  SYND RURAL SELF EMPLOYMENT TRAINING INSTITUTE, Manipal sponsored by syndicate bank conducted training in “Computerized Accounting”. Career guidance cell of the college enabled Ms.Rashmitha 3rd B.Com to take training on the above subject from 26-08-2019 to 25-09-2019.
4. On 01st Oct 2019 “Workshop on Life Skills” was organized by the cell. The resource person of the session was Prof.Uday Shetty Assistant Professor GFGC Tenkanidiyur. He emphasized the importance of different life skills in the ordinary way of life to face challenges of employment in the society.
5.  “Careers in Private Sector Banking”- session was organised by the cell, on 28th January 2020. Mr. Vikas M Head of NIIT Mangaluru was the resource person of the session. He highlighted the relevance of training in banking sector to face the competitive world.
6.  Career guidance cell assembled the final year B.Com students to conduct a seminar on “Digital Marketing and Its Opportunities” on 12/02/2020 the resource person Mr.Mayur Hatwar, digital marketing and soft skill trainer GYANAD Training Institute Hubli focused on the digital marketing opportunities available to the students.
7. On 26th February 2020 Pradhanmantri Koushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY) under the flagship scheme of the ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship(MSDE) conducting “Skill Training Programme” for 3rd B.Com and B.A students which will enable them to take up industrial relevant skill effectiveness that will help them in securing a better livelihood. The resource person Mr.Raghavendra Rao Manager PMKVY, Udupi, Envisaged to link the aptitude, aspiration and knowledge of skilled youth which creates employed opportunities and demand in the market. 17 students are taking training under this PMKVY Scheme. Ms Thilaka C Y and Purushottham Bhat 3rd B.Com has successfully cleared the Assessment.

Pool drive:

1. Cell uploaded the details of 200 students of the college to ‘INTERNSHALA- A Special UGC Programme’. Aishwarya Kini of 3rd B.Com B was selected by INDIA Redefined Company to complete her Internship.
2.  Mr.Shashikanth Kini of 3rd B.Com B, attended and got selected for the job interview at Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd.
3. INFOSYS conducted campus recruitment on 20th January 2020 for the final year students at MGM college Udupi, in this process company conducted briefing session, group discussion, written test and face to face interview more than 50 students participated. Vishnu Acharya, Niranjan Bhat, Kaushik Bhat, Rajani, Padmashri Pai of 3rd B.Com got selected.
4.  GOAN Institute International Consociation Of Education Pvt Ltd (GICE) conducted campus recruitment on 23rd January 2020 for the final year students, in this process company conducted briefing session, group discussion, written test and face to face interview more than 15 students participated, where Architha Karkera, Pavan Kumar Shetty, Nitish Sherigar, Siddarth Kini, Shreesha Naik, Aishwarya J Kini, Tanusha A Nayak of 3rd B.Com got Selected.
5.  On 24th January 2020 Cognizant a Pvt Ltd company conducted a pool drive at MGM College Udupi. More than 50 students participated where Architha Karkera and Akshatha P Shenoy of 3rd B.Com got selected.
